AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 3:5 So then, does He who supplies you with His [marvelous Holy] Spirit and works miracles among you, do it as a result of the works of the Law [which you perform], or because you [believe confidently in the message which you] heard with faith? |
Bible Question:
Comparing Galatians 3:2-8 with John 6:28,29. Galatians 3:2, NKJ, "This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4...5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?--" Question: Does He work miracles among us by supplying the Spirit or spirit? What shall we do, that we may work the works of God? From the heart, Ray |
Bible Answer: I love Galatians chapter 3. I don't really understand the question about Spirit or spirit. Basically what it is saying to us is that when we accepted Jesus as our Savior we believed by faith. Maybe the Galatians were under pressure from Jews to be circumcised and honor the Jewish ceremonies. Paul is telling them that they were not saved by their works but by faith and that their works of the flesh (in their own power) can not perfect them. We must learn to continue in faith - trusting God for everything. We're all guilty of trying to do things ourselves and we don't depend on God until we can't handle the situation any more.
