Bible Question: The phrase "Generatonal Curses" has popped up quite a lot lately in converations and sermons. I can't seem to find anything on it. Could someone please explain a generatonal curse? |
Bible Answer: It is important to listen to what your Heavenly Father says to you through His Word. If what a person says can't be backed up with scripture and the context of the surrounding scriptures also back it up then I would not take his word. Generational curses are said to be a curse on a person for their ancestors sins. As far as I have found, there is no scriptual backing for this past the point of Ezekiel 33:11-20. Here God Himself speaks and sets the people straight. The context here is one paying for their own sins untill forgiven. And not using righteous to get away with doing whatever you like. When you read the Word. Read it prayerfully saying, "Precious Lord, please show me what this means....does it really mean that...." He will show you. He loves you. Never forget that. Some think a Gen curse is like this.....Your brought up in a poor family and when you are an adult you have a poverty mentality. That is only our upbringing forming our heart, beliefs and thinking. All that can be changed by finding a promise in the word from God and every time a negative thought crosses your mind then say, "Lord I thank you that your word says......" That dear friend is standing on the word and walking in faith. I don't know it all, of course. However, What I do know is that God is a GOOD God all the time to me. May God richly bless you Yosepy |
