Bible Question:
2 Corinthians 8:9 Paul is urging the church to give. He says Jesus was rich and became poor. It appears Paul is talking about finances here I don't know my Gospels cover to cover but when I read about Jesus I never get the sense he was ever fiscally rich. What do you think on this issue. Can we believe that Paul is talking about spirituality combined with Blessings that came from God and allowed Jesus and his desciples to be provided for as they traveled from place to place? Bottom line....Before crucifying and resurrection, how well off was Jesus and where how do we know? |
Bible Answer: roark89 What Paul is saying here is Jesus who had all the riches of heaven laid down everything and stepped through the womb of a virgin upon this earth with nothing. Jesus never cared about money if he needed any he could always get it from the mouth of a fish Matt 17:27. His own testimony was he had no home no place to lay his head. Jesus was more interested in you and where you were going to spend eternity than he was in his own comfort or money. EdB |
