Bible Question: what does the bible say about the defininiton of dating? isn't dating a meeting between someone at a certain place and time with agreement from both parties to get to know each other better? does that mean as christians we shouldn't date a non-christian eventhough we're strong in our faith? but we, christians should't confine from the world but instead set a testimony by bring forth the light to the world and be a channel of blessing?.....cUrIoUs |
Bible Answer: To begin with, you will find no definition or even mention of dating in the Bible, although you will find there principles that apply to relationships. The modern concept of dating is wholly unknown in the Bible or to the ancient world in which the Bible was written. Dating, as we know it, is a very new phenomenon in the history of humankind. I'm not saying that you do this, but, in general, we often kid ourselves that we are dating someone for the purpose of "witnessing" to and possibly converting them. By some strange coincidence the person whom we date as a ministry is usually someone we just happen to find physically attractive. The logic here is simple. According to the Bible, a believer has no business marrying an unbeliever. How to avoid marrying someone? Don't date them. |
