Subject: The Soul after Death |
Bible Note: The 'rapture' is NOT scriptural, it is a doctrine of men. 1Thess 4:16 is addressed to 'Christians' who are concerned regarding those who had "fallen asleep in Jesus", v13-14. The living Christians will not precede the dead Christians, because they will be raised first, when the Lord descends from Heaven, v15-16. In verse 17 both the living and raised Christians will "meet the Lord in the air", not on earth. And will be with Him forever. There will only be ONE resurrection of the dead, John 5:28-29. ALL who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgement". ONE resurrection of ALL the dead, not two resurrections. |
