AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 13:5 ¶ Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit? |
Subject: Human judgement |
Bible Note: John 7:24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." I think in this case it is important to note that it is an unrighteous judgment that is wrong. At time Christians have to judge. If I were cheating on my wife my brothers in Christ would be obligated to tell me I was wrong. The problem arises when people judge by external things, like someone one told me, "If you don't wear a tie on Sunday you don't respect God.” So judge but only according to what God calls sin, nothing more or less. |
