AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 13:5 ¶ Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit? |
Subject: Human judgement |
Bible Note: I think judging a person isn't right, but expressing an opinion about a person is legitimate. What is judgement (between 2 persons, not in the courthouse)? A difficult matter I think. But an opinion is quite easy. If a person said about me that I were to be an idiot, the man expressed an opinion, and this does not necessarily effects me. But if someone with authority were to say such a thing about me I would be sent immediately for a psychological observation in a suitable compound. In my view the difference lies in the question: 'Was anything done?' Comments? |
