NASB | 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 12:9 but He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough--always available--regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness." Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me. |
Bible Question: Did Jesus ever turn any one away who was seeking healing? |
Bible Answer: I realize this is a argument from silence but it is something we need to consider. In the story of John 5:1-15 where Jesus healed a man waiting for the water at the pool of Bethesda, the narrative leads us to believe there were probably more waiting and there is no mention that Jesus healed them. I would expect that if they saw a man healed they would surround Jesus clammoring for a healing. Again there is no mention that anyone else asked or that Jesus didn't heal them. Also John tells us if he listed every miracle Jesus did there wouldn't be enough room on th earth to contain them. So it is very possible that everyone at the pool of Bethesda was healed that day. |
