AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 12:7 Because of the surpassing greatness and extraordinary nature of the revelations [which I received from God], for this reason, to keep me from thinking of myself as important, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan, to torment and harass me--to keep me from exalting myself! [Job 2:6] |

Bible Note: Hi Matt: I am of pretty much the same mind, the Bible says, in fact, Moses himself says, he was slow of speech, I take that to mean, he was slow of speech. Where does it say paul was (slow of speech)? I'm not trying to argue here, I really would like to know, as I don't recall ever seeing that. Having said that, neither does slowness infer, a lack of ability to communicate in loquacious articulation of verbiage. Moses perhaps was just showing his meekness, and humility. I too am sometimes very, "slow of speech", but that is not necessarily an impairment in the ability to communicate. And I too often will claim that I don't articulate well, but those who know me will just tell me I'm full of it, when I say things like that. Certainly in Paul's case in can be argued that he was a consummate orator of the highest degree, when he chose to be. He could also write with the same said characteristics; the Bible, and history, bears witness to that fact. Just my two cents. John |
