Bible Question: Im not that religious, but a friend has passed away and Id like to find a verse in the bible to help me. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |
Bible Answer: gianna Like Sir Pent said without more info it is hard to know what to say. One verse that speaks to me is Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His saints. I also find great comfort in Hebrews 11:13-16 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. [14] For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. [15] And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. [16] But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. In this passage it is speaking of the saints of old, Abraham and Sarah in particular, that died believing in God's promises. In this we are reassured that God is faithful to us and to what He has promised us. I hope these two passages bring you comfort and hopefully motivation to refocus your life. As you said your not that religious. maybe God is using this to change that in your life. My prayers and condolences over the lost of your friend go with you. EdB |
