AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 7:12 ¶ To the rest I declare--I, not the Lord [since Jesus did not discuss this]--that if any [believing] brother has a wife who does not believe [in Christ], and she consents to live with him, he must not leave her. |

Bible Note: Hi Greg, How does 1 Cor 7:12-13 speak towards whether or not a Christian should marry a non-Christian? I see where it says that if you are a Christian, and you are already married to a non-Christian, that you should not initiate a divorce, but what does that have to do with marrying an unbeliever? Would not that be covered by the principle given in 1 Cor 6:14? When the Bible asks "What fellowship does light have with darkness?", does that only apply to teachers, and not to others? God did say not to yoke a donkey with an ox. He also said not to plant two grains together in a field. He also said not to mix different fibres in a cloth. What do you think is the message He is trying to give us? Love in Christ, Mark |
