AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 6:9 ¶ Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate [by perversion], nor those who participate in homosexuality, |
Bible Question: Recently the discussion of homosexuality and Sodom and Gomorrah was brought up. Someone said, "The sin that God destroyed those cities was the lack of hospitality and gave a scripture to back it (sorry, I don't have the scripture) and that there is not anything in the Bible that says God is against homosexuality. Anyway, to make a long story short, I was not able to prove or explain that this was the reason of the destruction. Now he has me wondering, "IS homosexuality alright?" He also said that because Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, it is okay with Him. What say you? (anyone!) |
Bible Answer: Here is the scripture explaining the reason God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. "Behold, this was the sin of your sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy-Ezekial 16:49." Where do we get the idea that it was destroyed because of sodomy? Was it because the men were lusting for the angels that came for Lot and his family? or are there scriptures that specifically state this? |
