Bible Question:
Hello My name is Ben and i am 17 and i go to school in manchester, England. recently my friends have been asking me questions about why i do not have sex before marriage, and appart from the fact that i dissagree with it i think it is imortant to leave it untill marriage i cannot find any actual quotes in the bible refering to sex before marriage, i have found plenty refering to adultery, but i have looked that up and that means sex with someones wife or someones fiance. i would be very grateful if someone could tell me if there are any verses that specifically refer to sex before marriage so i can tell my friends. also in many places there are quotes about gay relationsships, but when i talk about it with my friends they always go 'oh what about lesbians, everyone loves lesbians', which is a stupid school boy quote but i cannot find anything in the bible which says anything about lesbian relationships. forever grateful Ben Rapley P.s. im terribly sorry for any bad grammar or spelling, I have dyslexia and i find it really hard. |
Bible Answer: When I was in my early 20's and working at a factory for the summer, there were men there that boasted of many things. When it became clear that I was a virgin, and they believed me, and that I was proud of it, some of them were amazed. One of them who was probably the most sexually driven asked me privately why I was proud to be a virgin. I had the opportunity to explain what a husband/wife relationship could look like, and that cheating on my future wife was still cheating. But then I said something that really struck him to the heart in a convicting way. I said, "I can be what you are any day I choose. It would not be difficult. But you can never be what I am." To this he had to agree. So, before I was married, I reminded those who thought they were something for having sex, that the REAL triumph was in being able to wait. Anyone can lose their virginity, but only a strong man can keep it for his spouse. MJH |
