NASB | 1 Corinthians 6:11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you [before you believed]. But you were washed [by the atoning sacrifice of Christ], you were sanctified [set apart for God, and made holy], you were justified [declared free of guilt] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God [the source of the believer's new life and changed behavior]. |
Bible Question (short): Just as if I had never sinned? |
Question (full): You seem to have missed the main point of my answer, which is: when we are justified by faith we are DECLARED RIGHTEOUS IN THE SIGHT OF GOD. . . . I agree with you that we are not without sin in our experience. 1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Sanctification is two-fold, part of it being a progressive process which continues throughout our lives on this earth. . . .
