Subject: What is your favorite Bible version? Why |
Bible Note: Aixen7z4: It certainly is true that successfully combining accuracy and readability in a Bible translation is not an easy task. Like you, I appreciate the wide range and variety of English Bible versions that are available. The New Living Translation (NLT) is an excellent choice, a fine blend of accuracy and readability. When I am reading the Old Testament and trying to understand it -- the text and the historical, cultural, language background -- my first choice is the Life Application Study Bible in the NLT. Using all available translations is good advice. Of course, the best translation is the one an individual reads -- the one he can both trust and understand. The most accurate English Bible in the world does one no good if one cannot understand it. Thanks for your good reply. Grace to you, Kalos |
