NASB | 1 Corinthians 2:15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 2:15 But the spiritual man [the spiritually mature Christian] judges all things [questions, examines and applies what the Holy Spirit reveals], yet is himself judged by no one [the unbeliever cannot judge and understand the believer's spiritual nature]. |
Subject: Judge for yourselves. |
Bible Note: Norrie: Thanks for the feedback. I agree with you entirely. If there is one verse in the Bible that is misused and misapplied more than any other, it may be "Judge not lest ye be judged." To misuse this verse really shows a depth of understanding. Does anyone ever read anything in the Bible IN CONTEXT? Or applying the principle of analogia Scriptura? As you noted, it does seem we are told to judge practically everything. And may I point out, what I wrote is not quoted or derived from some commentator; it is merely the scripture verses themselves that tell us WHAT we are to judge. Grace to you, kalos |
