NASB | 1 Corinthians 14:22 So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:22 Therefore, [unknown] tongues are [meant] for a [supernatural] sign, not to believers but to unbelievers [who might be receptive]; while prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people] is not for unbelievers but for believers. |
Bible Question: Hello everyone. I have a question if I don't speak in tounges or shout does it mean that I don't have the HOly Spirit living in me. |
Bible Answer: Hello 8788, What makes you think you are saved? Is it just because it says so in Scripture, and you believe what God has said about His Son, Jesus? If your answer is yes, then you are saved and indwelt by the Spirit all at the same time; because God’s Word says so! It is not a matter of how you feel or the way you act, but what saith the Word of God. Some days when I wake up I feel about as spiritual as a carrot, but according to God’s Word I am still saved and still indwelt by the Holy Spirit! It’s not how I feel but what I know and the promises that God has given me! Ephes. 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, The Holy Spirit himself is the sealing, John 14:16-18 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Have a great day, by knowing truth, CDBJ |
