AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:1 Pursue [this] love [with eagerness, make it your goal], yet earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual gifts [to be used by believers for the benefit of the church], but especially that you may prophesy [to foretell the future, to speak a new message from God to the people]. |
Bible Question: Was speaking in tounges only for back then or do people still speak in tounges? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Marcie and welcome to the forum. Speaking in tongues is today as well as in biblical times. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. What He desired of people in biblical days He desires of us now. Co 14:2,4a When a person speaks in another language, he doesn't speak to people but to God. No one understands him. His spirit is speaking mysteries....When a person speaks in another language, he helps himself grow. I have listed 10 reasons why believers should speak in tongues in my reply to Nomi just above this question in the "answered questions". prayon |
