NASB | 1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 13:1 ¶ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love [for others growing out of God's love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction]. |
Bible Question:
We do not know what Jesus looked liked. Where does the Bible say there is a difference between tongues of men and tongues of angels? When angels spoke to men, what language did they use? |
Bible Answer: no, we don't know what Jesus looked like. And I don't believe we are supposed to know. Jesus appears to each individual as they seek to know Him as He in His infinite wisdom knows we need to see Him. He did not leave us with an image limited by our eyes to remeber and worship, but a whole life, with meaning beyond our senses. Jesus is the epitamy of all that is magnificent, beautiful, captivating. He has left us with something to look forward to - TO SEEING HIM - because He is still a man in Heaven. |
