AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 12:30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? |
Subject: speaking in tounges |
Bible Note: NASB 2For one who (E)speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks (F)mysteries. 2b ... no one understands... "I also do not believe that you will find in scripture anywhere that "glossa" referring to the gift is ever used to reference an "unknown language" (i.e. as if unknown to mankind). If it is please point it out for me :-) " If no one understands, I think it safe to say it is unknown. no one knows and unknown are interchangeable. I don't want to poke at you here, so please don't take it that way, but... " It may be that those of the Corinthian church might not have "known" the tongue". Why would God give me the supernatural gift of speaking in French if nobody in the room speaks French? It just doesn't make sense. I'm not sure where your going with that line of thought.
