AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 8:28 ¶ And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. |
Bible Question:
For how God causes all things to work together for good when ... -a young child by a drunken driver? -a mother is dying in agony with cancer? -Christians are tortured, made slaves, killed, etc. for their faith? |
Bible Answer: Hi!! I struggle with this same type of thing but...don't you already know the answer? You have certainly seen God do good things with bad situations. Is your struggle really with the question does the good outweigh the bad?...Did God CAUSE a child to be hit by a drunken driver so something good could happen? This is where I am stuck. I have a friend who was sexually abused by her father for 9 years. I don't believe this was in God's plan or part of God's purpose for her life. I do believe that if she allows God to work, He will bring good out of it. But I think it happened because of the awful sin and godlessness of her father. |
