AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 8:28 ¶ And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. |
Bible Question:
For how God causes all things to work together for good when ... -a young child by a drunken driver? -a mother is dying in agony with cancer? -Christians are tortured, made slaves, killed, etc. for their faith? |
Bible Answer: Steve- I can talk a good talk now, I have not had to be in a situation like this, but I hear about how the love of God is spreading in the countries where people are being persecuted for their faith. I just got a report about a small house church in SE Asia(Ibelieve it was) where Christianity is illegal. As they gathered the people together, ropes were placed around the children's necks and the parents were told to renounce Jesus or the children would be hung. The parents told their children they would see them soon in Heaven. After this, the parents were given the option again or be run over by a, we call them caterpillars. Again they refused and were singing praises to our God as they were being crushed. I understand Christianity is spreading like wildfire in that area. Or what about Cassie (?) in Littleton, CO that was shot after she told her killer that she believed in God, knowing that that would be the result? Again, that incident brought more people to the Lord than any amount of preaching probably would have. But we are talking about people who are "called". Even a person dying in agony, who shows that the Lord is His strength, could bring others to the Lord. Debbie |
