Bible Question:
This is a revisit to Romans 8:2 as I try to put into ink rather than pencil, a final draft. My physical problems with cancer are causing me more pain and the end may be nearer, so I want to put as much closure as possible to as many questions I put forth here on the forum. The question I first brought up was whether "spirit of life" would be an appropriate interpretation for Romans 8:2. I now agree, however, with the NASB and NKJ in their "law of the Spirit". I see these comparison verses and I welcome your comments or Amens. Romans 7:22 speaks to my mind of the law of (God) in the inner man. Romans 8:2 speaks of the law of the (Spirit), of life in Christ Jesus, which sets us free. We still need the Greek scholars to inform us of punctuation possibilities. Romans 8:5 speaks of "the things of the (Spirit)". Romans 8:11 speaks of life through His (Spirit) who indwells us. Romans 8:16 tells us that "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit", that we are children of (God). 1 Corinthians 15:50 shows us that we need to be concerned about the things of the Spirit and of the heavenly Man. Flesh and blood cannot inhearit the kingdom of (God). 1 Peter 4:6 says that even though we are judged in the flesh as men, we may live according to God in the *(Spirit). I welcome your thoughts. From the heart, Ray |
Bible Answer: Ray, you are right on the law of spirit. My thoughts are with Romans 9:4-5., Who are isrealites, to whom pertaineth the adoptionand the Glory, and the covenants, and the giveing of the law and the service of God and the promises, who are the fathers of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen. We have the spirit of adoption whereby we cry Abba, Father. He is a Jew which is inward not of the outward apperance. The law of the spirit is where we all as believers in Christ Become Jews inwardly and become Isrealites under God. Just my thoughts Ray. I know what your going throu and my spirit and prayers are with you , my Brother. DL5 |
