Bible Note: Proverbs 2:1-5 promises: "My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God." This harmonizes with Jesus' famous words that "you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." Paul's words at Romans 8:19 as well as elsewhere must have been meant to be clearly understood, for he himself admonished fellow Christians: "Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? 9So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air." (1 Cor 14:8,9) I would be happy to further share my thoughts on any Bible question as 'I received free so I give free." |
