Bible Question:
My discipler has given me an assignment...To research and write a paper on the spirit of adoption. I have struggled recently with all concepts of God in my life being shattered and the first one I am tackling is the concept of God as MY father. The difficult comes with trying to reconcile a perfect HEAVENLY father with my earthly father who was at the least abusive. I think the intent is that the research will show me more of God's character. She told me to keep it under 100 pages :) I'd love to hear personal stories or thoughts and I would especially love Scriptural references, commentaries, links etc. References I'm using now is Romans 8 (a good portion of it) as well as talking about slavery vs. servant hood and how it relates and about orphancy. Greatly appreciated! Stephanie |
Bible Answer: Esther 2:7 is a great story about an orphan...one that became a Queen...for she had neither father or mother...no doubt left to live with her cusin to raise her after losing her parents must have been devistating to say the least...I am sure she probably had no idea what God had in store for her but know this one thing...God knows all and wants us to cast all our cares upon him for he cares for us(1 peter 5:7)I hope this helps some...God Bless |
