Subject: "the law is spiritual, but I am carnal" |
Bible Note: In Romans 7:14-25, Paul is speaking of one under the law. How can you reconcile this as being a believer, when Col 2:13-14 says all of our sins have been forgiven and the law has been blotted out and nailed to the cross? Colossians 2:13-14 says "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" Paul then goes on further to explain in verse 16 to say "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:" Obviously, the "handwriting of ordinances" is evidenced by Paul describing certain provisions of the Law that a believer has been delivered from. Col 2:15-16 says "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:" Romans 8:2 says "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." Should it then not be concluded that in Romans 7:14-25, Paul is speaking if himself prior to salvation.? The TRUTH will MAKE you FREE Luke |
