Bible Question:
I have been studying Ezekiel 18 and have become confused about sin. Are we not born sinful in nature because of the original sin of Adam and Eve? If I understand Ezekiel 18 right we are no longer being held accountable for original sin or sins passed on through the generations, but only those sins we commit. |
Bible Answer: Your right! We are born condemmed because of the sinful nature we inherited from Adam. Becaues of Adam it is natural for us to sin. It's a condition that we have. We are born as people who rebel against God and his commands. Our sinful nature causes us to sin and we are accountable for the sins that we commit. Think of the sinful nature as the driving force behind our desure to sin. It's the different sins we commit that we are accountable for. Anyone have some good scripture on this? |
