Subject: What is imputed righteousness? |
Bible Note: "Under the Old Covenant, righteousness was only credited." We are saved by the same covenant God made with Abraham, for which Christ served as our propitiation: Galatians 3; Hebrews 9:15. We are credited with righteousness just as Abraham was: Romans 4:1-5. You wrote: "Generally speaking, people received forgiveness through the OT sacrificial system." The Bible says: "For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins." --Hebrews 10:14 You say so much here that is 100 percent biblical, but it has to do with us being declared righteous in Christ, not being made righteous. Please, PLEASE look at Romans 5:17-19 and see that justification is listed as PAST, but being made righteous is listed as FUTURE. They cannot be the same thing, because Paul puts them on opposite sides of the present. --Joe! |
