Bible Question:
My husband asked me something I didn't know how to answer. I was hoping someone here might be able to help. When satan and the angels were thrown out of heaven, why didn't God deal with them then? Why wait? Why just throw him out of heaven and not into hell? This was the question he asked me...and I didn't know what to say. I remember reading scripture of how he was thrown down...about how he wanted to be like God and take over, but I don't remember ever reading anything about anything else (?). IS there anything in the bible saying why he was 'just' thrown down and not dealt with RIGHT AWAY? Or anything else that might help answer this question? Or any thoughts on this? I don't know what to tell him (hubby). |
Bible Answer: Look at it this way; when a person does something bad he is thrown in jail, correct? When Satan and the angels rebeled against God they were cast down and chained also. (2 Peter 2:4. Jude 6) Scrpture tells us "UNTIL THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT" and that is what Jesus Christ brought in; (John 5:22;9:39) God foretold this in Gen 3:15. So, the devil who is a sinner from the beginniing (1 John 3:8) an adversary of God and man (1 Peter 5:8) was found GUILTY. His trial was held at calvery! He's like a man cast into prison, brought before Judge and Jury JESUS CHRIST, tried, convicted and sentenced. Now He awaits the Judge who will return EXECUTIONER (Revelation 19:11-16). And we all await that the DOOM OF SATAN. THE TRUTH IN LOVE |
