Bible Question:
My husband asked me something I didn't know how to answer. I was hoping someone here might be able to help. When satan and the angels were thrown out of heaven, why didn't God deal with them then? Why wait? Why just throw him out of heaven and not into hell? This was the question he asked me...and I didn't know what to say. I remember reading scripture of how he was thrown down...about how he wanted to be like God and take over, but I don't remember ever reading anything about anything else (?). IS there anything in the bible saying why he was 'just' thrown down and not dealt with RIGHT AWAY? Or anything else that might help answer this question? Or any thoughts on this? I don't know what to tell him (hubby). |
Bible Answer: Hi Brenda L, We know this: Satan will always be under God’s control, who will eventually destroy him (Rom 16:20; Rv 20:10). The best answer I can give is that he exists and is allowed by God for His glory. Eph. 1:11 says, " also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will" God allows satan to exist but doesn't explicitly reveal His "why" for it in scripture. I hope this helps, BradK |
