Subject: It is time to glorify God for His mercy? |
Bible Note: Hi mommapbs, I believe that Christ is the Servant of all peoples and nations. I believe that David is giving praise as an Israelite to God, and he is entreating all peoples to praise the Lord, Romans 15:11 and Psalm 117:1. Psalm 117:1,2,3, NASB, "Praise the Lord, all nations; Laud Him, all peoples! For His lovingkindness is great toward us, And the truth of the Lord is everlasting. Praise the Lord!" End of Psalm, three verses. Romans 15:12 continues with something Isaiah said, "There shall come the *Root of Jesse, And He who arises to rule over the Gentiles, In Him/ shall the Gentiles hope." I believe that the Gentiles hope in the same name that David sang to. We glorify God/ for His mercy. Romans 15:6, "that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father/ of our Lord Jesus (Christ)." Romans 15:13, "Now may the God of hope fill you [all peoples, nations?] with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy (Spirit)." Second comment: John 10:30 has been a tough question for me through the years and you know that my study is still in pencil and still in progress. :) I believe that the NASB has it correct in rendering the verse, "I and the Father are one." In my studying it in the past I wanted to make it "I and My Father are one" as is the NKJ and King James because it has the idea of three Pronouns in one verse, thus giving the idea of the Trinity. But the possessive pronoun is not in that verse, as is shown by the italics of our translations. So then I went with "I and the Father are One" until I studied the Greek more and found that the possessive "My" is in some manuscripts for verse 29. John 10:29, NKJ, "My (Father) who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand." So, mommapbs, I believe that verse 30 should continue to have "one" but I also believe that the NASB should have the "My" in the last part of verse 29. I believe that God the Father is the Holy One of Israel. I believe that Jesus is the Holy One of God. I believe that the Holy Spirit is one Spirit. And yes, I believe in one God. I believe in one Lord; Lord God and Lord Jesus as one. I believe in one Spirit. James 2:19, "You believe that God/ is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder." I also believe that God/ is love. Praise His name! From the heart, Ray |
