Bible Note: I was taught along these lines, which is exactly why I posted. Interesting that you should say here that Perseverance and Encouragment are Gifts, which is exactly what I was taught about this verse. The idea being that the first part of the verse, although in prayer form is saying God gives us perseverance, as in a gift. Tim Moran seems to be saying that Paul is not writing right here of God specifically stating He is giving perseverance as a gift. Which is what has got me to pondering if Paul meant Endurance. I am still struggling with the concept that the Perseverance of the Saints is something God does. That being true, what exactly is this verse saying about God giving perseverance? |
