Bible Note: Asis, thanks for your response, and your note does find me well for which I am grateful and thank you for asking. Having just read your reasons for making a distinction between discipleship and being a follower of Christ, I honestly feel that there is no significant difference, if indeed any at all, between the two terms. Truly to be a follower of Jesus Christ demands discipleship of the highest order. The two terms may provide some little semantic exercise to chew on, but by and large I think either is an apt description of a regenerated believer. One who merely acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God -- one who, as you put it, recognizes Him but does not have any relationship with Him -- is no more a follower of Christ than I am of Saddam Hussein.
