Bible Note: Greetngs Kichmon! So, according to the context of Romans 1, you are contending that this passage is a description of the Christian majority today? Where do you find references to 'Christians' in this passage? How about church leaders? We do find two groups of people mentioned in the context of this passage - Jews and Gentiles. It makes much more sense to see chapter one as a condemnation of the Gentiles for their false worship, and chapter two as a condemnation of the Jews for their disobedience. The climax is found in chapter three where all men are declared to be sinners. The point of the first three chapters is quite simple. All are sinners and in need of God's grace. Verse 23 talks about 'them' changing the image of God into images made to look like men and animals. How many Christians do you know who do this? Verses 24 through 27 talk about giving them over into homosexuality. How many 'fundamentalists' do you know who advocate homosexuality? I don't see any way that this passage could refer to Christians my friend! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
