Bible Question:
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Act 5:42 KJVR) Please tell me about the two words, 'preach' and 'teach.' Synonyms or what are the distinctions. I would be very interested in its use in Gal. 3:8 and Heb 4:2. |
Bible Answer: Word Study ... Didasko (teach) Euaggelizo (preach)... God's day to you, Thomas8, and welcome Matthew 11:1 also has both words. In Galatains the word is Proeuaggelizomai ... Pro is before. Hebrews 4:2 is Euaggelizo. One can view the difference as preaching or proclaiming to a larger group and teaching is instructing to a smaller group and includes discipling. There can be an overlap. Ask more questions and share your thoughts, Searcher |
