Bible Note: Greetings stjohn! Without attempting to address the original question I would like to point out something for discussion that doesn’t seem right to me. Based on what you appear to be saying, this type of teaching changes the standards of God to that of man (My opinion). 1 Corinthians 12:1-31 discusses the body of Christ and the importance of every member thereof. What scripture bases do we have to say that if you practice sin, you can serve in this capacity but not in that? Also, it would seem to me we are out of step with the will of God if mankind is dictating who uses what gift of the Spirit. How then do we say to one, you cannot use the gift given you by God but you can however serve in this manner as we (mankind) deem this a worthy gift of a sinner but not that? Your thoughts? Steve |
