Subject: Paul is commanded to wash away sins? |
Bible Note: Hi sniper, Acts 10:47, "Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?" One one should argue if someone wants to be baptized in water. Philip did not prevent the eunuch from being baptized in Acts 8:36. It is interesting that verse 37 is not included in some manuscripts (have people been discussing this before now?). The important thing is that we believe in the One or Someone that the Scriptures of Isaiah were speaking of. Verse 37 [And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."]. John 11:16, "And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'" If we call on His name we have seen the Righteous One. I think the water is a moot issue. We are to be washed in the word of God, baptized with the Holy Spirit. Now if you want to talk about whether it is Holy Spirit or holy spirit, I have a few minutes available to discuss. From the heart, Ray |
