Bible Question: In 1Cor14:22 Paul mentions that Tounges is a sign for unbelievers.Yet in verse 23 he says that would they not call you mad if they saw you speaking in Tounges |
Bible Answer: Bunty: Welcome to the Forum! This is a highly debateable subject. There are several ways to understand the meaning of Tounges. The tounges in Acts are in many Biblical scholars views, were known languages, not a made up sounds. I personally do not think that today tounges are seldom accurately administrated in the Biblical way. Some would say like many Penteccostal believers that one must speak in Tounges to prove you are saved. I do not think this is Biblical, and forces new believers to utter fimular phrases to sound like others who say they have the gift. Again there are others in the Forum that will disagree with me. That's ok they have a right to be wrong. I am sure to get some notes on this. The Forum is a place where we respect each other, and the most important thing is Faith in Christ expressing itself through love. I hope this helps, and blessings to you. justme |
