Subject: Holy Spirit / Tongues for Today? |
Bible Note: I don't want to get too far off topic, but it seems that pro-tongues groups believe that the initial evidence of Baptism with the Holy Spirit IS that of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. Apparently, this is how Peter knew that the Gentiles had received the Holy Spirit - they heard them speaking in tongues (Acts 10:44-46). It seems that subscribers to Pentecostal theology believe that Baptism with the Holy Spirit is NOT: simply for the Apostolic days, not the New Birth, and not Sanctification. I'm interested in the question of whether or not speaking in Tongues is only for the Apostolic days. Thanks! Huron |
