Subject: Holy Spirit / Tongues for Today? |
Bible Note: Hi eowyn, Your thoughts are correct:-) That's why I mentioned that this is a very debated topic- because it is! Scripture has but one interpretation, and yet, many applications. Interpretation is not "open to what one perceives" - though that will influence one's views- but instead should be done by considering the whole counsel of scripture- including the context. The reason I brought up the rest of Mark 16 was clearly stated: context! We cannot ignore context to support our arguments- mine or yours:-) The context of Mark 16 in relation to tongues and healings also includes vs. 18. My point being exactly that, you can't ignore it when mentioning the preceding verses. Eowyn, stick around a bit as I do enjoy the dialog with you. As you're new to this public Forum, just realize that your and my statements (postings) are open to the scrutiny of all. A challenge to what you say is not necessarily a criticism. There are many different backgrounds represented, yet we are one in Christ. Feel free to check out my user profile to get to know me a little better, and if you feel so inclined, include one about yourself. It helps us get to know one another:-) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
