AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. |
Bible Question:
Acts 2:38 repent and be baptized. With this scripture in mind can a new christian living in a defacto relationship be baptized? |
Bible Answer: CB - Doc has given a splendid response in Post 178503, which I endorse without reservation. In no wise would I baptize this fornicating couple who obviously don't take the word of God seriously. It is repentence they need right now -- and perhaps regeneration -- not baptism. The key issue is what the Bible teaches about immorality -- and on the issue of fornication the teaching is as clear as it can possibly be -- and not what various age groups think about it. --Hank |
