Bible Question (short): Living together and baptism ,what would |
Question (full): With all due respect, that does not address any of the issues that I enquired about. Are you saying that the couple in question can be baptized with the full knowledge of the church knowing of their situation? Wouldn't this be condoning the act of living together whilst unmarried? thus saying yes come on in we will baptize you regardless of you living situation, It is interesting to talk to people of different ages as to their response to this question, for instance the majority of people I've spoken to, born pre 60s (includes me) are of the mind that this issue needs addressing before they are baptized, and the people born after that time are more reluctant to want to do anything about it. The act of living together isn't actually the issue is it? it's the fact that this couple and many many others don't think that there is anything wrong with it, even when it has been pointed out to them scriptually that in my view is the real issue here. As the person baptizing them I have a huge problem with this and I would really appreciate some other views on the matter. By the way you gave me Exodus 1 on... as a reference I think I must be missing something? |
