AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. |
Subject: The gift of the Holy Spirit |
Bible Note: Dear Alan, Brother Tim addressed this question with a relevant point. Allow me to make one as well: How do you KNOW it is the completion of the scriptures? Interestingly, the grammar sheds quite a bit of light on what the perfect isn't! Since the perfect (teleion) is in the neuter gender, it's object must also be neuter. The "completion of the Scriptures" wouldn't fit. Simply, scripture does not tell us or say specifically "what" the perfect is. There are many conjectures and I have mine, so you're not necessarily wrong, but rather are making a theological assumption. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
