Bible Question: According to the BIBLE, How do you know that you have received the HOly Ghost. And do you beleive that receiving the Holy Ghost, based on evidence, is necesary for salvation. Bible Answer: I know that I've received the HOly Ghost, becuae the Bible says so. Paul asked, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" He indwells believers at the moment of salvation. Some passages are: - Act. 2:38 Note, be baptized is in the future tense. Repent and receive the Holy Spirit are in the present. - Rom. 8:9 When we believe we belong to Him. - 1Co. 6:19 Our bodies is a temple of the Holy Spirit. - 1Co. 12:13 He unifies us. See below. - Gal. 3:2 We recieve Him by believing what we heard. 7 NT passages talk about baptism and the Holy Spirit, with varying prepositions reflect the fact He is both the agent and sphere of this baptism. 6 contrast John's baptism in water with Jesus' future baptism in the Holy Spirit (Mat. 3:11, Mark 1:8, Luk. 3:16, John 1:33, Act. 1:5, 11:16).
