Bible Note: Hi Tim, I left my other post earlier than when I would have wanted so I will add this P.S.and another question. Where is the verb in Romans 29:29? I ask this question because I offer this comparison of passages. Acts 17:25-18:6 and Romans 3:21-29. They offer a comparison of times; a fixed time and a present time. They offer a comparison of a judge and a just justifier. The comparison shows that He is a God of the Gentiles also. Acts 1:31, "because He has fixed a day in which (He) will judge the world in righteousness, through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men [offered faith] by raising Him from the dead." Romans 3:21, "for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, that (He) might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus...a law of faith...For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Acts 18:5, "But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ. And when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them, "Your blood be upon your own heads! I am clean. From now on I shall go to the Gentiles." Romans 3:29b, "Is He not the God of Gentiles also?..." I should also add that God is one. Romans 3:29cff, "Yes, of Gentiles also, since indeed God/ who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised throught faith is one." James 2:19, "You believe that God/ is one. You do well;..." Galatians 3:20b, "...whereas God/ is only one." John 10:30,31ff, "I and the Father are one." The Jews took up stones again to stone Him./ ...and because You, being a *Man, make Yourself/ out to be God." From the heart, Ray |
