Bible Note: Thanks so much. I got kind of confused with all of this when reading Acts where Paul circumcised Timothy. Thanks to your post and another one, I now understand that it is not required, but that Paul did this because Timothy was 1/2 jew and that the Jews of that day would have been extremely offended if an un-circumcised man come into the synagogue. Paul wanted to teach the Jews about the good news, and did not want them to expel Timothy from the assembly. I think I've got it now! Thank you all so much! |
