Bible Question:
Why do we continue to call Resurrection Day Easter? Estar was a fertility goddess used by pagans, and there is a direct relationship with easter egg's and the hunt for these. This is my personal gripe at the Leadership of the Church today for allowing this to go on and on not calling this most Holy of day's by Resurrection Day. We have Ash Wendsday, Good Friday, why not Resurrection Sunday? Am I the only one who finds this "easter" so very offensive? I would like to here from others that feel the same way I do, please. justme |
Bible Answer: Greetings Justme! In the KJV, "Easter" appears at Acts 12:4. But every Bible version after that has "Passover".. I agree with you on using "Resurrection Sunday" rather than "Easter", whose name stems from paganism. Blessings to you, Makarios |
