Subject: Is it bibical for a church to require? |
Bible Note: The "church role" that she should be concerned about is the Book of Life that is kept in heaven. Jesus Christ, our Lord is the head of the church members listed in that book. All believers have direct access to the Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit living inside them. Don't be lead astray as Jesus warned in Matthew 15:9 "They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men." The believers' concern for others should be sincere. Paul the apositle wrote this to the Corinthians in 2 Corinthians 13:10 "This is why I write these things when I am absent, that when I come I may not have to be harsh in my use of authority—the authority the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down." And the writer of Hebrews in Hebrews 10:25 "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching" This is the issue: Galatians 5:6 ... "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." This is love defined: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails." If an earthly church violates this then shame on them. They are arrogant and the love of the Father is not in them. |
