Bible Question: Is it bibical for a church to require a female member who became pregant out of wedlock to come before the church and ask forgiveness or her name will be removed from the church role. She has confessed her sin to God and ask forgiveness and has confronted her family and admitted she had done wrong and she knows it is not right. |
Bible Answer: God's day to you, dka, and welcome to the SBF, I challange you to take this thought to the leaders and congregation of the church. Who created the spark of life in the woman. I believe God did (Psa 139:13-16). DO NOT condemn the woman if she gets pregant. While she and a man had sex (which is wrong outside of marriage (Heb 13:4)) ... the pregancy and birth of a child is a blessing of God (Psa 127:3-5). The Woman Caught In Adultery (John 8:1-11) is another point. Adultery as a capital crime (Lev 20:10) and both the man and woman should have been punished (Deu 22:22). So I ask where is the man? Also are both parties punished if they have sex outside of marriage? We all wonder what Jesus wrote (vs 7a). I ask what law the church leaders/members break? Did they speed? What not kick them out? What about lusting? They are guilty of lust in their heart (Mat 5:28). They must be kicked out. Accept the woman, her child and the child's father, in love. Searcher |
