Bible Question:
Saints, Good sermon today! Was Israel saved or not? In Christ Jesus, charis |
Bible Answer: No. Israel rejected Christ, so blindness in part has happened to Israel untill the fullness of the gentiles has come in. Rev 7 shows the 144,000 sealed on earth, before the white robed multitude from the tribulation are seen standing before the throne. This part I can answer with certainty. Now, Paul says all Israel will be saved. John writes 144,000. So here's the followup question Is all Israel saved or only those to whom the blindness is removed? Rom 11:7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. Rom 11:25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins." Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed: To reconcile the two, one could assume that "all Israel" means the entirety of the nation, 12,000 from each tribe, 144,000 in all. So not every one but from the entire nation. These will be those who recognize the Messiah has come and is come again. |
